Nigerian celebrity chef and Guinness World Record holder, Hilda Baci, is set to chase another historic culinary milestone—this time with what she calls the largest pot of Jollof rice ever cooked.
In a Friday Instagram announcement, Baci revealed that the event will be held on September 12, 2025, in partnership with seasoning giant Gino. At the heart of the spectacle will be a mammoth cooking pot measuring six metres in width and six metres in height—a scale never before attempted.

“Almost two years ago, I dreamed of creating the biggest pot of Jollof rice the world has ever seen,” she wrote. “Now, with Ginonaija and all of you, that dream is finally coming alive. Six metres wide, six metres tall—September 12, we make history together. Because what is Jollof without you to share it with?”
The chef, who captivated global audiences during her 100-hour Cook-a-thon in 2023, described this new challenge as more than a culinary stunt. In her words, it is “a cultural celebration that goes beyond food.”

Back in May 2023, Baci rose to international fame when she cooked for four consecutive days in Lagos, a feat that secured her a place in the Guinness World Records and cemented her status as one of Africa’s most recognizable culinary ambassadors.
With her latest announcement, Baci isn’t just cooking Jollof—she’s cooking up history, culture, and pride on a grand Nigerian scale.
