A Ghanaian travel vlogger has described Nigeria as “really blessed” after a backpacking trip to Agbokim Waterfalls in Cross River State, comparing the seven-stream cascade to Victoria Falls.
Efyakimora documented the journey on social media, taking her followers through a four-hour public transport trip from Calabar to Ikom, followed by a 50-minute motorcycle ride into dense tropical rainforest.
The waterfalls, located near Ikom town along the Cameroon border, consist of seven distinct streams cascading over steep, lush cliffs. She visited during peak rainy season, when the streams merged into one thundering curtain of water—so immense she publicly asked whether it deserved to be called the Victoria Falls of Nigeria.
Rather than viewing from the observation deck, she climbed into the gorge, walked behind the water and swam in the pools at the base.
She urged Nigerians to stop gatekeeping their own attractions and to explore them actively.
Her trip is part of a broader route she has documented across Nigeria’s South-South, South-East and North-Central regions.
As Ghanaians came to see Nigeria properly, Agbokim Waterfalls remains one of Cross River State’s major natural attractions.
