Ned Nwoko has appealed to the public, particularly Regina Daniels‘ fans, bloggers and social media commentators, to give the actress “breathing space” as she deals with health challenges.
In a statement issued on Monday, Nwoko said the appeal was made not only for her sake but for the sake of the couple’s children.
“Regina has been through a lot, more than many people may realise, and right now, what she needs most is love, support and the opportunity to recover,” he said.
The appeal follows the video Daniels shared on her birthday, in which she revealed that a condition which began as something minor had affected her mobility.
Nwoko said the disclosure gave the public a glimpse of what she has been dealing with.
“This is not a time to judge, vilify or add to her burdens. It is a time to show compassion and allow her the opportunity to heal,” he said.
Fake Death Reports
Nwoko singled out what he called false and disturbing reports about Daniels, including fabricated death announcements and misleading stories.
“Regina sees many of these posts, and they are deeply distressing. They do nothing to support her recovery,” he said.
He called on her fans to discourage the behaviour rather than amplify it.
“I will not tolerate the deliberate spread of false information about Regina, particularly fabricated reports about her death, health or personal circumstances,” he said.
He warned that publications spreading such content are being documented and that those responsible will face legal action.
“There is a limit to what should be tolerated, and that limit has been reached,” he said.
Nwoko and Daniels married in May 2019. The couple’s marital crisis became heavily publicised, with Daniels at one point referring to him publicly as her “ex-husband.” Recent reports have suggested a possible reconciliation.
Before her marriage, Daniels was publicly linked to Nollywood actor Somadina Adinma.
