Nollywood superstar Mercy Johnson-Okojie has set the record straight about her health, shutting down swirling rumors and viral headlines claiming she has cancer. The buzz erupted after a snippet from her hit show, Mercy’s Menu, made rounds online, showing her candidly sharing a personal health scare during a heartfelt conversation with Joke Silva.
Mercy clarified in a video posted on Instagram: “Thank you to all of you who have been calling and sending messages and prayers. I do appreciate it so much, but I do not have cancer.” She explained that what actually happened was a thyroid scare. “I said I had a cancer scare. It means that I’ve this swelling on my neck… my doctors felt it was something serious. I had problems with my thyroid. I’m perfectly okay. Thank you so much for all of your calls and your messages. I’m perfectly fine and I do not have cancer.”
The actress, who recently underwent a thyroid removal surgery, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support from fans but emphasized she is healthy, happy, and not battling cancer.
