In a move smoother than any takedown we’ve seen in the Octagon, David Adesanya, the younger brother of UFC superstar Israel “The Last Stylebender” Adesanya, has officially tied the knot with his longtime partner and “best friend,” Abbey.
The wedding, a vibrant celebration of love, culture, and brotherhood, was a far cry from the hilarious viral moment that first introduced David to many MMA fans. There were no failed spinning kicks, no comical falls, and certainly no imitating laughter from his brother—only pure joy, and the kind of “main character energy” that clearly runs in the Adesanya bloodline.
David, who plays a pivotal role in managing his brother’s events and the massive “FREESTYLEBENDER” YouTube channel, shared a series of heartwarming photos from the big day, captioning them with simple, profound gratitude:
“Married my best friend! Best day ever! Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us. Love you all.”
A Wedding of Two Worlds
The ceremony was a stunning fusion of Western elegance and rich Nigerian heritage.
In one set of photos, the couple is the picture of modern romance. David looks dapper in a crisp agbada, while Abbey stuns in a classic white gown, sharing a tender kiss beside a luxury Rolls-Royce. It’s a scene straight out of a cinematic love story.
But the true vibrancy of the Adesanya family shone through in the traditional segment of the wedding.

Embracing their Yoruba roots, the groom and his groomsmen—including the former 2-time UFC Middleweight Champion Israel—donned magnificent Agbada ensembles. David stood out in a deep royal blue, accessorized with traditional coral beads, while Israel and the other groomsmen complemented him in lighter blue tones. The sight of the “Stylebender” trading his fight shorts for a traditional fila (cap) and joining in the celebration was a reminder of the inclusive, close-knit nature of the Adesanya clan.
Money Raining, Joy Replaced Kicks
The reception was electrified by the Nigerian tradition of “spraying money.” Photos show a beaming Abbey, now fully immersed in the culture, dancing while guests, including a joyous David, shower her with cash. It was a scene of pure jubilation, a world away from the gym mats where David once famously (and hilariously) tried to replicate his brother’s moves.
While David may not possess the lethal spinning back-kick of his older brother, he clearly packs a powerful punch in the romance department. His wedding to Abbey was a knockout event, proving that sometimes, the biggest wins happen outside the cage.
Here’s to the happy couple, may their marriage be as strong as an Adesanya chin and as enduring as their family bond.
