The Real Miss Corporate Nigeria organisation has officially named Uzogheli Ifeoma Nkemonyekpe as Miss Grand Nigeria 2026, taking over the crown from 2025 titleholder Joy Omachonu and setting the stage for Nigeria’s campaign at the Miss Grand International pageant in India this October.

Nkemonyekpe, a law student, fashion model and Delta State native, reacted to the appointment with a burst of enthusiasm on social media. “We Are Going To Indiaaaaa,” she posted shortly after the transition was announced.

The succession links two distinct pageant profiles. Omachonu defined her reign with high-fashion risk-taking and the expansion of her girl-child advocacy platform, EVC Initiatives. Nkemonyekpe steps into the role with a reputation built on runway mechanics, having won the Top Model award at both Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria 2022 and Miss World Nigeria 2026, where she finished in the Top 10.

Pageant commentators say her appointment could pivot Nigeria’s Miss Grand strategy toward a high-energy, performance-heavy presentation tailored to the international stage.

The announcement triggered an immediate surge in Nkemonyekpe’s Instagram following, which jumped from 21,100 to more than 38,000 within hours. The national organisation is now redirecting all creative assets, designer partnerships and media campaigns toward her pre-departure preparation.

The Miss Grand International 2026 final is scheduled for 10 October, with events spread across Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. Nkemonyekpe is expected to begin her intensive boot camp and advocacy rollout in the coming weeks.
