History and hope intertwine in Okeluse Kingdom as Oba Oloyede Adekoya Akinghare II—the youngest reigning king in Nigeria—delivered a stirring Children’s Day message, igniting dreams across Ondo State and beyond.
Ascending the throne in February 2019 at just sixteen, following the passing of his father, the late Oba Akinghare I, Adeyeoba Omomogbe, Oba Oloyede stands as a living testament to youth, duty, and tradition. Though he only graduated secondary school in August 2022, the young monarch has carried the ancient crown with a heart for his people and an eye on the future.
Addressing the children of Okeluse and the world, the Arujale-Ojima spoke with passion: “You are the radiant star, pride, and future of our kingdom and society. You are the authors of untold stories yet to be written, your curiosity, the spark of progress, and your courage, the seed of change. As your king, I pledge to provide a Kingdom where your rights are protected, your voices heard, and your dreams nurtured. I call on every relevant body tasked with improving the lives of our children to treasure our children and do right by them as a nation that treasures the children gives room to continuous growth and development.”
The king’s words reflect a deep commitment to championing children’s rights and futures—not just in Okeluse, but across Nigeria. In a land where tradition often meets modern challenges, Oba Oloyede is showing what it means to lead with youthful vision, integrity, and love.
As the Children’s Day sun sets over Ondo, the kingdom beams with the promise of tomorrow, crowned by a king who truly sees the children not just as heirs, but as history-makers.
