The 2025 Detty December Festival is poised for a significant Pan-African moment with the announced inclusion of East African superstar Diamond Platnumz.
The Tanzanian Bongo Flava star will perform with Juma Jux on the 18th of December at the Waterfront Ilubirin.
Organised by Livespot360 and branded “Africa’s Real Summer,” the festival runs from December 6 to 31 across two flagship Lagos venues: the waterfront Ilubirin in Ikoyi and the Livespot Entertarium in Lekki. It has received formal endorsement from Nigeria’s Minister of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, who highlighted its role in promoting cultural tourism and showcasing the nation’s creative industries.
The festival’s first wave of headliners includes American rap legend Busta Rhymes and Nigerian street-pop star Bella Shmurda. Tanzanian Juma Jux is officially scheduled to perform a live concert on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at the Livespot Entertarium in Lekki. This aligns with the day’s social media promotions for an “East Meets West” theme.
Organisers have stated that “more artists, surprise guests and programming will be announced,” leaving a possibility for last-minute additions.
