In a series of candid videos shared on her social media, Nneka, dressed in a sleek Black Alo sports set and a visor, with winds whipping her hair, appeared calm yet visibly shaken as she described the chaotic situation. Standing on the balcony of her resort, palm trees bending behind her under the force of the storm, the reality star addressed fans directly.

“Hey guys, a lot of people messaged me asking why I’m still in Jamaica,” she began. “We heard that the storm was coming, which is actually already here. We tried to leave as soon as possible, but the country closed the airport — not the airlines, the country itself. The skies were clear, the water was blue, and the weather was perfect. We still don’t know why they shut it down, but we’re just staying safe.”

Despite the rising winds and sheets of rain visible around her, Nneka remained composed, even managing a touch of humor as she detailed how the resort staff were doing their best to keep guests comfortable and calm.

“The hotel has been so accommodating,” she added. “They’re keeping us fed, they’ve got music and games going, trying to distract us from what’s happening outside. But I’m not here by choice. Hopefully, we’ll be home soon. Stay tuned for more updates.”

The Hurricane Melissa system, which intensified earlier this week, has wreaked havoc across parts of the Caribbean, forcing Jamaica’s Sangster International Airport to suspend all flights due to strong winds, heavy rains, and unsafe travel conditions.

For Nneka, who just welcomed baby Noah in May with her husband, Dr. Ikenna Ihim, this unexpected ordeal marks her first major travel scare as a new mom. The RHOP star had earlier opened up about her journey to motherhood, revealing that Noah was one of twins and that she tragically lost his sibling during pregnancy.

Now, as she shelters in place with her infant son amid one of the season’s fiercest storms, Nneka’s videos show both her vulnerability and resilience — a mother’s instinct on full display, calm in the middle of nature’s chaos.

The star closed her video with a hopeful smile, her voice steady over the howling wind: “We’re safe, we’re grateful, and we’ll be back soon. Jamaica’s been kind — even in the storm.”

As fans flood her comments with love and prayers, one thing is clear, even Hurricane Melissa couldn’t shake Nneka Ihim’s poise.
