Months after an awe-inspiring display of endurance and skill, Nigerian makeup artist and entrepreneur Theresa ‘Tesglam’ Emegwara has officially been immortalised in the annals of world records.
On February 3, 2026, she was formally presented with her Guinness World Records plaque, certifying her incredible feat for the longest continuous makeup application by an individual.
In August 2025, during the “Glam 4–144” marathon event in Lagos, Tesglam completed a staggering 146 hours, 23 minutes, and 56 seconds of non-stop makeup artistry.
Over six days, she applied makeup to more than 200 different faces, shattering the previous 103-hour record held by a Ghanaian artist.
Sharing a photo of herself proudly holding the official certificate and medal, Emegwara reflected on the monumental journey. “146 hours later, the story continues,” she wrote. “What started as a personal challenge became a collective moment, powered by community, belief, and the quiet strength it takes to keep going when no one is watching.”
The founder of Tesglam Makeovers, whose record attempt was backed by the iconic House of Tara International, emphasized that the achievement was a collective victory for the Nigerian creative industry.
“This achievement is bigger than me. It’s about what happens when preparation meets purpose,” she stated, expressing deep gratitude for the support she received. “Thank you for holding my hand through the waiting, the wondering, and the work. This journey has only just begun… History has been made.”
Tesglam’s record is a testament to her exceptional discipline, passion, and resilience. As a celebrated figure in the Nigerian beauty scene, she continues to inspire a new generation of creators through her professional makeup academy, solidifying her legacy as a true visionary in her craft.
