Nigeria’s creative brilliance is set to illuminate Riyadh as the nation proudly announces the participation of three exceptional designers at the 3rd edition of the Saudi International Handicrafts Week (Banan), taking place in November 2025.

The Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism, and the Creative Economy has confirmed that Idowu Ohiole, Fatima Hassan, and Lilian Oche will represent Nigeria at the prestigious 14-day cultural showcase, which gathers artisans from over 25 countries. Their selection stems from the Ministry’s Creative Collection initiative, first unveiled during the Fashion Focus Stakeholder Engagement in June 2025—a visionary platform designed to spotlight Nigeria’s ingenuity and cultural wealth.

The trio reflects Nigeria’s diversity and innovation: Àràntiwa Clothing (Fatima Hassan) champions export-worthy indigenous fashion inspired by Adire, Aso Oke, and Ankara; Locheness (Lilian Oche) redefines elegance with handcrafted beaded bags and jewellery blending tradition with modernity; and Ohiole Lagos (Idowu Ohiole) delivers premium African leather bags balancing style with function.

Beyond individual artistry, their participation signals Nigeria’s rising stake in the global creative economy. The government’s push to position Nigerian talent on international platforms is now bearing fruit—from fashion capitals to Riyadh, Nigerians are reclaiming their narrative and showcasing the nation’s identity through craftsmanship.

The Ministry congratulated the artisans, reaffirming its commitment to forging strategic cultural partnerships worldwide. This moment is a declaration that Nigeria’s creativity is not only a local heritage but a global force.
