Poland’s ancient summer solstice rituals met Nigerian elegance as Paula Ezendu, Miss Nigeria at Supranational, joined other global queens to soak in the magic of Kupala Night—a night of fire, flowers, and timeless folklore celebrating the longest day and shortest night of the year.

All eyes were on Paula as she gracefully embodied Nigerian craftsmanship in a breathtaking light blue lace gown crafted by homegrown luxury label House of Maysam. Draped in the signature “NIGERIA” sash and crowned with a vibrant floral wreath, she brought a touch of African royalty to Poland’s riversides and rolling hills.

In a heartfelt message, Paula shared, “Kupata Night, one of Poland’s most enchanting Slavic traditions, brought us fire, flowers, and folklore under the stars. Making flower wreaths for love and destiny, dancing around the fire — every moment felt like a fairytale with meaning.”
Kupala Night, known locally as Noc Kupały or Wianki, is a vivid tapestry of pagan roots and Christian blessings from floating flower crowns in rivers to leaping over bonfires to invite luck and love. And right there, amid the songs and sparks, Paula’s Maysam gown stood as a symbol of Nigeria’s vibrant design legacy stitched into global culture.

As she knelt by Poland’s rivers and laughed with sister queens from Argentina, Zimbabwe, Germany and Jamaica, Ezendu spotlighted the artistry and promise of House of Maysam, proving once again that Nigerian fashion belongs anywhere the sun kisses the earth.
Bravo to Paula, House of Maysam, and to Nigerians taking our beauty and talent worldwide, one bloom at a time.
