Miss International Nigeria 2026, Damilola Bolarinde, had a memorable outing at the Iwalewa Gallery of Arts in Lagos, attending an exhibition celebrating African creativity while marking a proud family milestone.
The exhibition, themed “AFRICA A CONTINENT OF DIVERSITY,” featured works by emerging Nigerian artists. Among them was her younger brother, Emmanuel Bolarinde, a rising contemporary visual artist known for his intricate charcoal and mixed-media portraiture.
Reflecting on the evening, Damilola described it as a powerful affirmation that purpose need not follow a straight line. “Yesterday’s art exhibition was a beautiful reminder that there is no single blueprint for success,” she said. “I left inspired by the courage of young artists choosing to create and express. The room was full of young creatives boldly sharing their vision with the world. For me, it was a gentle reminder that purpose doesn’t always follow a conventional path, and that’s what makes it extraordinary.”
She reserved special praise for her brother, whose debut showing drew considerable attention from collectors and art enthusiasts. “A proud sister moment, too, celebrating my brother’s debut art exhibition. Watching him share his work with the world filled my heart with so much pride. Congratulations, Emmanuel Bolarinde. Here’s to creativity, courage, and becoming to all the young artists courageous enough to be seen.”
Iwalewa Gallery of Arts, founded by Sir Femi Williams, is a prominent Lagos-based space dedicated to celebrating African portraiture and creative heritage.
For the queen, the outing underscored her commitment to youth empowerment and cultural advocacy, themes central to her pageant platform. As Miss International Nigeria 2026, her calendar continues to build ahead of the Miss International global finals.
