Nigerian dancer Poco Lee has made his first public appearance since his release from UK custody, sharing a meal of jollof rice with Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy in a video that has since gone viral.

In the clip, the Emperor of Afrobeats welcomes the dancer, looks him over, and notes how much weight Poco Lee lost while in detention. To mark his release, Burna Boy served him his first proper plate of jollof rice since his arrest.

The video was widely circulated online by personalities including VeryDarkMan, confirming that Poco Lee is physically out of a UK cell.

Burna Boy stated publicly that Poco Lee contacted him personally upon his arrest. He said he immediately used his UK network and connections to assist, maintaining his belief in the dancer’s innocence.

The appearance confirms Poco Lee’s physical release, likely on bail or following a fresh turn in the investigation. It does not mean the legal matter has been dropped.

The Crown Prosecution Service confirmed on Saturday, 12 September 2026, that the case remains active and live. Poco Lee, whose real name is Odinaka Iweh, faces five counts related to sexual offences and assault. The allegations stem from a visit to the UK following an August event at the Crystal Palace Bowl.

His Plea and Trial Preparation Hearing remains scheduled for Tuesday, 15 September 2026, at Snaresbrook Crown Court in London, where he must formally enter a plea of guilty or not guilty.

UK authorities have not publicly confirmed whether he was granted bail. Supporters remain optimistic amid circulating rumours that the accuser may withdraw the allegations, but no official confirmation has been issued.
