Nigerian master of ceremonies MC McKinzie will co-host the 18th Annual ACANA Festival for the second consecutive year this Sunday, 2 August 2026, at Cherry Street Pier on Penn’s Landing.
She returns to anchor the main stage alongside Mathos Sokolo, who is hosting the festival for the fourth year.
The Nigerian Afrobeats star Teni headlines the free, family-friendly event running from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Sokolo shared the pairing on social media. “Beyond excited to share the stage with my amazing co-host for another year, @lizzymc_ig! Best believe we are going to bring the energy!!! Biggest shout out to @Acanaus for bringing me back!” he wrote.
MC McKinzie replied: “It’s always an absolute pleasure working with you! I can’t wait to share the stage once again for another electrifying, high-energy, and truly unforgettable experience. Let’s make magic, create lasting memories, and give the audience a show they’ll be talking about long after the lights go down!”

MC McKinzie, whose Instagram handle is @lizzymc_ig, has built a profile hosting cultural showcases, multi-generational music festivals and red-carpet events within the African diaspora community. She also produces podcast content and coordinates live audiences.
The ACANA Festival, organised by the African Cultural Alliance of North America, draws thousands of attendees annually to Philadelphia. Organisers expect strong turnout given free admission and Teni’s broad appeal.
