The summit aims to complement ongoing federal engagements between Nigeria and Brazil by facilitating multi-sector exchange across economic, creative, and heritage domains.

Discussions will focus on trade opportunities, creative collaboration across film and media, cultural diplomacy through heritage preservation, and cross-sector knowledge exchange among policymakers, business leaders, cultural practitioners, and academics.

“Nigeria and Brazil have been connected for over 130 years through the Afro-Brazilian returnees who settled on Lagos Island,” organisers stated. “Like the Fanti Carnival, this summit is a continuation of a story that began centuries ago, now reimagined for today.”

The one-day event, running from 10:00 AM, invites registration via LAGOSFANTI.COM/SUMMIT. The summit marks a significant step in deepening ties between both nations, leveraging Lagos’s historic role as a cultural crossroads to foster contemporary economic and creative partnerships.

The Fanti Carnival remains a celebration of the enduring Afro-Brazilian heritage embedded in Lagos’s cultural fabric.
