The Prime Minister of Grenada, Honourable Dickon Mitchell, has embarked on a historic working visit to Taraba State, Nigeria, marking a new chapter in Africa–Caribbean cooperation.
On October 13, 2025, Prime Minister Mitchell met with Governor Agbu Kefas at the TY Danjuma Government House in Jalingo, where both leaders discussed strategic collaborations in education, agriculture, trade, and investment.

The Grenadian leader emphasized his vision for stronger ties between the Caribbean and Africa, calling the partnership “a bridge to shared prosperity and a chance to change Africa’s global narrative.” He noted that both regions share deep cultural and historical bonds that should now translate into concrete development opportunities.
Prime Minister Mitchell reaffirmed Grenada’s commitment to partner with Taraba State in advancing food security, agribusiness growth, and sustainable development, announcing plans to formalize the cooperation through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
Governor Kefas hailed the visit as “a milestone for Taraba’s global outreach,” pledging the state’s readiness to sustain a mutually beneficial alliance that will drive progress for the people of Taraba and strengthen Africa-Caribbean solidarity.
