Galatasaray are set to complete the most expensive transfer in Turkish football history as Victor Osimhen prepares to sign a permanent deal this Saturday. After a sensational loan spell from Napoli—scoring 37 goals and 8 assists in 41 matches—the Nigerian striker will join for $87 million (€75 million), shattering Süper Lig records and signalling Galatasaray’s European ambitions.
Negotiations with Napoli were tough, with president Aurelio De Laurentiis holding out for Osimhen’s full release clause. The deal will see Galatasaray pay €40 million upfront and €35 million in installments, plus up to €5 million in bonuses. Napoli also secured a 10% sell-on clause and blocked any transfer to another Serie A club until July 2027.
Osimhen, turning down massive offers from Al-Hilal and several Premier League giants, chose to stay with Galatasaray, citing his bond with fans and coach Okan Buruk. He’ll earn up to €18 million per year on a three-year deal—one of the highest in Süper Lig history.
The move comes amid a major squad overhaul, with Galatasaray also signing Leroy Sané and reshuffling their squad for a Champions League campaign. Osimhen’s arrival is set to fire up Istanbul, with a grand unveiling at RAMS Park—ending a transfer saga that captivated fans across Turkey and Italy.
