A viral video circulating across Nigerian social media platforms has captured the dramatic moment a father arrived at a fitness centre with police officers to confront a gym instructor he accused of impregnating his daughter.
Father slaps gym instructor during arrest over daughter’s pregnancy
The footage shows the visibly enraged father leading law enforcement directly to the suspect during a busy workout session, while other gym members looked on in shock. Some bystanders attempted to de-escalate while others recorded the tense scene.
During the confrontation, the instructor reportedly admitted to impregnating the young woman but insisted they were in a consensual boyfriend-girlfriend relationship and that he had done nothing wrong.
The explanation further angered the father, who at one point slapped the instructor, questioning whether the daughter appeared underage: “Doesn’t she look underage to you? Are you mad?”
Police officers eventually placed the instructor into a vehicle while he continued protesting, accusing the father of oppression.
Legal experts note that under Nigerian law, pregnancy between consenting adults is not a criminal offence, suggesting the dispute is primarily a family matter.
The incident follows recent reports involving fitness professionals, including a gym instructor in Uyo, who allegedly impregnated two married women.
