In a moment of immense national pride, Nigeria’s dazzling football queens, Esther Okoronkwo and Rasheedat Ajibade, have been nominated for the CAF Women’s Player of the Year 2025 award. The recognition crowns a triumphant year for both stars, whose brilliance powered the Super Falcons to reclaim glory at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) unveiled a star-studded list featuring Africa’s finest, and the inclusion of the Nigerian duo underscores their unmatched quality and leadership. Ajibade, the Falcons’ fearless captain, mesmerized fans with her creativity and tenacity—unlocking defenses and inspiring teammates with every touch.
