Davido has pulled the plug on his highly anticipated July 3rd performance at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, citing unresolved issues with promoters that clashed with his standard of excellence and respect for the culture he embodies.
In a heartfelt statement, the Afrobeats juggernaut revealed that despite “strong fan support and impressive ticket sales,” critical misalignments with The Necto Future Group and @iconicpresents made it impossible to deliver the world-class show his loyal fanbase deserves.
“Over the past few weeks, I have extended my full support and professionalism… but there have been major misalignments regarding the event’s execution, particularly concerning key elements required to uphold the integrity and quality of my performance,” Davido declared.
He stressed that the cancellation has nothing to do with low turnout. “This decision is not a reflection of turnout or support; it is a matter of principle and respect for my craft, my fans, and the culture I represent,” he said.
Fans can breathe easy though—Davido vowed that the rest of his summer dates are locked in. “5ive is still alive! See you guys in Germany, Portugal, Belgium, Canada and the US!” he promised, sealing it with an emphatic reminder: Africa must be respected.
While the show will go on without him, London can expect Davido to return soon. “London, I’ll see you guys soon, I promise!” he signed off, leaving no doubt that the OBO brand stands firmly on integrity, quality—and Africa’s global pride.
