Nollywood veteran Eucharia Anunobi turned heads at the 2026 AMVCA red carpet – not with a beaded gown or designer train, but with a Bible, a hand fan, and a blanket.

The unconventional look immediately divided social media, with some calling her a “mad woman” and others praising her fearless fusion of faith and fashion.

Anunobi, who is an ordained apostle, said she intentionally carried the Bible as her primary accessory to represent her ministry. She claimed to have designed the outfit herself, describing it as a “glorious combination” of gospel and glamour. The white fabric symbolised light, while the “cracks” painted on her face were meant to reflect the mental and financial struggles currently facing Nigeria.

Despite the red‑carpet controversy, the actress went on to open a presenting segment at the 12th AMVCA, announcing winners for Best Costume Design, Best Make‑up, and Best Art Director. Fans and critics continue to debate whether her look was prophetic or performative, but Anunobi insists: “I came to represent the Lord, not the runway.”
