The final ranking released after the ceremony placed Chelsea’s Hannah Hampton in first place, followed by Ann-Katrin Berger (Germany, Gotham FC) in second, and Cata Coll (Spain, Barcelona) in third. Nnadozie edged out Daphne van Domselaar (Netherlands, Arsenal) to take the fourth spot, a historic recognition of her brilliance on both the African and European stage.

Her nomination and top-five finish were inspired by her outstanding performances at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), where she delivered game-defining saves that powered Nigeria to yet another continental title. Her penalty heroics in the semifinal against South Africa — stopping two spot-kicks in a nerve-wracking shootout — became one of the tournament’s iconic moments.

Beyond WAFCON, Nnadozie’s form for Paris FC in the French league and Champions League qualifiers, coupled with her recent move to Brighton, further established her as one of the most reliable goalkeepers in the women’s game.

For Nnadozie, finishing 4th is not a defeat but a statement. She has entered the global conversation at the highest level, proving that Nigerian women can stand tall on the grandest stage.
