Beryl Inegbenose has been crowned winner of the Best Content: Original category at the CerAwards 2026, a night that celebrated the intersection of skincare storytelling and Nollywood-inspired creativity.
The ceremony, hosted by CeraVe Africa under the theme “CeraMoVE,” took place on April 23, 2026, at Jewel Aieda in Lekki Phase I, Lagos. The event brought together Nigeria’s most inventive content creators, tasking them with blending the brand’s skincare philosophy with the rich visual language of Nollywood.
A Winning Vision Born from Jenifa’s Diary
Inegbenose triumphed with a meticulous recreation of an iconic scene from the beloved Nollywood series Jenifa’s Diary. Unlike solo entry videos, she produced the piece with a dedicated cast and crew of friends, demonstrating that great content often requires collaboration as much as vision.
The recreation captured the humour, heart, and aesthetic signature of the original while seamlessly integrating CeraVe’s messaging — a balancing act that impressed both judges and audiences.
A Prize Worth Celebrating
As the category winner, Inegbenose walked away with a ₦2,000,000 (Two Million Naira) cash prize and a sponsored trip to Paris. In her acceptance remarks, published on social media following the event, she expressed heartfelt gratitude to CeraVe Africa for renewing her passion for content creation.
“These pictures are a little too pretty just to be in my gallery,” she wrote, alongside celebratory images from the night. “Thank you @cerave_africa for reminding me why I love content creation yet again and for celebrating the beauty in Nollywood.”
She also extended a special thank you to Mr Stan of Konga, as well as @shopkonga and @konga103.7fm, for an additional gift that accompanied her winnings.
“Oh, how it feels to be celebrated,” she added, capturing the emotional weight of a moment that recognised not just technical skill but artistic courage.
Star Power and Industry Recognition
The 2026 CerAwards carried significant cultural weight, thanks in part to its distinguished jury. Actress Funke Akindele — the creator and star of Jenifa’s Diary — served on the panel, bringing unparalleled authority to the evaluation of Nollywood-inspired entries.
She also received a special Nollywood Icon award during the gala, further cementing the evening’s theme of honouring those who have shaped Nigerian screen culture.
Other jury members, though not named in official releases, contributed to a rigorous selection process that elevated the CerAwards beyond typical brand-sponsored competitions.
CeraMoVE: Where Skincare Meets Storytelling
The “CeraMoVE” theme was deliberately conceived to push creators beyond product placement and into narrative territory. Contestants were challenged to weave CeraVe’s skincare ethos into short-form stories that paid homage to Nollywood’s visual and emotional language. The result was a showcase of talent that proved Nigerian content creators are ready for global stages.
Inegbenose’s winning entry stood out not only for its technical polish but for its authenticity — a quality that resonated deeply with a jury tasked with finding originality in an increasingly crowded creator economy.
A Rising Star’s Next Chapter
With ₦2 million in hand, a trip to Paris on the horizon, and a career-defining accolade now attached to her name, Inegbenose is poised for an even bigger 2026. Her win serves as both a personal milestone and a signal to brands across Africa: investing in creative talent yields not just content, but culture.
For CeraVe Africa, the CerAwards have successfully positioned the brand as a patron of the arts, not merely a seller of moisturisers. For Inegbenose, the message is simpler but no less powerful: great work, when seen by the right eyes, gets celebrated.
The photographs from that night in Lekki will likely remain in her gallery for a long time — and deservedly so.
