Grammy-winning icon Angelique Kidjo has announced a new collaboration with Afrobeats sensation Ayra Starr, revealing that their joint single “Aye Kan (Are You Coming Back?)” will arrive this Friday, March 27.
The track, featured on Kidjo’s upcoming 19th studio album “HOPE!!,” marks a powerful cross-generational meeting between the Beninese legend and Nigeria’s rising superstar.
Kidjo shared the news on Instagram alongside a photo of the two artists in a recording studio, writing: “The secret is out: the queen Ayra Starr is joining me on my next single, and you can see we had so much fun doing it.”
The image captures the chemistry between the pair. Starr, in an oversized denim shirt-dress and black leather boots, sits with a soft, confident gaze.
Kidjo, radiant in a sculptural red headwrap and a coordinating blazer set, leans back with regal ease. Behind them, the wood-panelled control room glows with warm light.

“HOPE!!,” Kidjo’s first solo project in five years, is dedicated to her late mother and set for global release on April 24. The 16-track album also features Davido, Pharrell Williams, Nile Rodgers, and Quavo.
