Woman loses control after naming only Nigeria in UK viral street video

1 Min Read

A street interview by digital content creator Eman.rtm has gone viral after a woman, asked to name three countries in Africa, could only mention Nigeria before insisting that Africa is a single country with no separate nations.

The clip, posted on Eman.rtm’s Instagram account, shows the interviewer asking the question. The woman answers “Nigeria,” then states, “Well, Africa’s just one, isn’t it?” She adds, “Africa is a country and a continent,” and later says, “There are no countries in Africa.”

The exchange shifts abruptly when she tells the interviewer, “You just tapped me on the head and the sky went black,” before performing what she calls an “African dance.” Eman.rtm then looks at the camera and says, “Yeah, that was horrible.”

The clip, posted on his Instagram Reel, has racked up massive engagement and reignited fierce online debates about basic geographic awareness. Commenters flooded the post with lighthearted mockery—and deeper societal critique.

Many pointed out that Western residents frequently treat Africa as a monolith rather than a vast landmass home to 54 recognised nations. When Europeans or Americans can name an African country, Nigeria is almost always the default.
