Man names Lagos as a country, insists Africa has no nations in viral street quiz

1 Min Read

A street interview by Manchester-based content creator Emmanuel, known online as Eman.rtm, has gone viral after a man named Lagos as a country in Africa and then insisted the continent has no independent nations.

Asked to name three countries in Africa, the interviewee answered, “Nigeria, Lagos, and Namibia.” Lagos is a city in Nigeria, not a country.

He then doubled down, saying, “Africa is a country and a continent. There are no countries in Africa.”

The clip ends with the man walking off to smoke.

The video has drawn heavy engagement on Eman.rtm’s Instagram page. Many commenters noted that Africa has 54 recognised countries. Others said the exchange highlights how often Western residents treat the continent as a single entity.

The full video remains on his official Instagram account.
