Summer Walker sues label LVRN as Interscope demands $50 million

Summer Walker is fighting on two fronts, and neither one is quiet. The R&B star sued Love Renaissance, her longtime label and management firm, in August. The filing only surfaced on October 13.

Walker alleges LVRN skimmed from her touring, recording, marketing, and merchandise budgets, then charged company expenses to those same accounts.

She also claims the firm ran a YouTube channel in her name and sold merch on Amazon using her likeness without payment. She wants her 2017 agreement declared void.

Days before that news broke, Interscope slapped her with a $50 million countersuit.

Walker filed to terminate her Interscope deal in August, invoking California’s seven-year rule. She signed in September 2017, so she argues she can walk.

Interscope found the loophole. A 1987 amendment lets labels sue over unfulfilled album commitments. They say she owes five. She’s delivered three: Over It, Still Over It, and the chart-topping Finally Over It.

Her attorney, Keith Moten, says she’s entering a new chapter as a mother and “doesn’t trust blindly anymore.” Both sides say they’re open to settling. Her team is ready to countersue if they aren’t.
