South African Ashley becomes Benin queen in coral at AMVCA Cultural Night

South African lifestyle influencer Ashley Brylnn Ogle made her Nigerian debut at the 2026 AMVCA Cultural Day – and she did not tiptoe. She arrived like a modern Benin monarch, draped in sacred ivie and a custom Estaz Bridal gown that turned the olive‑green studio backdrop into a royal court.

The red mermaid gown was pure fire. A deep‑plunging sweetheart neckline, off‑shoulder, with the bodice and edges completely encrusted in 3D coral‑bead clusters – looking exactly like a real coral reef. A keyhole cut‑out at the midriff revealed a criss‑cross lattice of red fabric, dripping with dangling clear and red bugle beads. Then, from the knee, the dress exploded into a massive, multi‑layered train of ruffled red organza that pooled on the floor like cooling lava, spreading six to seven feet behind her.

Coral from head to hand

Around her neck: five strands of burnt‑orange coral choker, with a longer gold‑and‑coral pendant underneath. Matching coral earrings, thick coral bangles on her right wrist, and a large coral statement ring.

Her hair was slicked back into a tight low bun, a delicate coral‑beaded vine crown resting across her hairline. In one ethereal frame, she added a sheer red tulle veil scattered with tiny red beads, draped over her head and shoulders – less red carpet, more royal portrait for the palace.

Makeup by Bibeonce (@bibyonce) gave her regal Benin‑bride glam: flawless matte skin, defined brow, deep oxblood matte lip.

Three portraits, three statements

Photographer Abdulrasheed Yusuf (@rashydz) captured defining shots.

In the first, she faces the camera head‑on, hands clasped, expression fierce – every coral bead on the bodice visible, layered necklaces sitting perfectly in her décolletage.

The second pulls back to reveal the full silhouette: one hand on hip, body turned, head looking away as the organza train spreads behind her like a royal procession.

The third, the most ethereal – veiled in red tulle, side profile, serene, looking straight ahead. The coral crown still shines through. It is timeless.

‘Every detail understood the assignment’

Ashley, who runs @ash_leythebrand, shared her mission: “First time in Nigeria, and I couldn’t just show up… I had to embody the beauty, boldness, and creativity I’ve felt since landing 🇳🇬✨ Tonight’s look? Soft, regal, and unforgettable… every detail understood the assignment ❤️ So be honest, what Nigerian name are we giving me?”

The look was crafted by Estaz Bridal, the luxury Lagos brand known for its ‘Back to the Roots’ collection. Styling by Magnus (@style_by_mag), hair by Wahab Ibrahim (@hairbykold), beads by Hayolar – each a master of heritage high‑fashion.
