Veteran Nollywood actress Sola Sobowale has received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 12th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA), celebrating her extraordinary decades‑long contribution to African cinema.

The award was presented on May 9, 2026, at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos. Sobowale, known for her commanding screen presence and emotional depth, has delivered unforgettable performances in acclaimed films including The Wedding Party, King of Boys, Battle on Buka Street, and Aníkúlápó.

From her early days on the popular television series Fuji House of Commotion to becoming one of Nollywood’s most revered leading ladies, Sobowale has inspired generations of actors and filmmakers with her versatility and dedication.
