The Sunday service at the House of Miracles Evangelical Church began with an opening prayer led by Pastor Mrs Bola Obafemi, followed by praise and worship led by Melvin Ayaa and the choir.

Evangelist Bunmi Bilewu then stirred the congregation with a prayer anchored on Isaiah 7:7, setting a reverent tone before Senior Pastor Akin Obafemi mounted the pulpit for the day’s sermon, titled “God Who Does All Things Well.”

Taking his primary text from Mark 7:37, Pastor Obafemi delivered a powerful message centred on God’s flawless nature in a world marked by human error. He drew a striking contrast between divine perfection and everyday life, citing how even the world’s most prestigious automobile manufacturers routinely issue recalls.

“Even the big, big cars like Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Toyota, Ford, GM — every day they have recalls,” he noted. “They will say, ‘ Everyone bring your car, we will fix it. It doesn’t matter if it’s brand new. Human beings will make mistakes.”

He then drove the point home with a personal story of buying a brand new house, only to discover water seeping through the basement floor within four months. “Imagine what we go through,” he said, underscoring humanity’s inherent imperfection.

In contrast, Pastor Obafemi declared, “God is perfect. All His works are perfect. There is no error with Him.” He reminded the faithful that at creation, God looked at everything He had made and declared it good, establishing a pattern of divine excellence that remains unbroken. Quoting the Apostle Paul, he added, “The foolishness of God is wiser than the wisest men.”

Addressing the tension believers face when their circumstances appear bleak, the pastor cautioned against judging God by present situations. “Sometimes when God is working, you look at it and say, ‘ This doesn’t make sense. But God is working, and His works are perfect,” he said.

He pointed to Jacob, who once cried, “Why is everything working against me?” yet later witnessed God’s redemptive plan unfold. He also highlighted Joseph, whose journey through betrayal, slavery, and imprisonment seemed hopeless until God turned it all for good, just as Romans 8:28 promises that all things work together for good for those called according to His purpose.

Pastor Obafemi drew a parallel to Christ’s crucifixion, stating, “On Good Friday, they thought it was over. They thought nothing good would come out anymore. But on Sunday, the Lord gave the greatest victory mankind ever experienced.” He declared that this same God prepares a way when human hope is exhausted.

The message crescendoed with an impassioned call to trust: “God, the master builder, is with you. Everything he builds is perfect.

He cannot make a mistake concerning you.” The service closed in prayer, with the congregation declaring, “He does all things well. He will do me well.”
