The Olu of Warri Kingdom touched down at Kumasi’s Prempeh I International Airport today, April 23, accompanied by Queen Consort Olori Atuwatse III, for a landmark royal visit to the Asante Kingdom.
The monarch’s primary engagement is the unveiling of the Otumfuo Commemorative Gold Coin Box, scheduled for Friday, April 24, honouring Otumfuo Osei Tutu II’s legacy.

The ceremony precedes tomorrow evening’s World Meets in Ghana Executive Dinner Ball at the Manhyia Palace’s Jubilee Hall, where the Asantehene will be honoured as a “Pillar of Peace” for his enduring contributions to stability and diplomacy.
The visit strategically aligns with Saturday’s grand Akwasidae Festival, which marks the 27th anniversary of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II’s ascension to the Golden Stool.
Before arriving in Kumasi, the Olu paid a courtesy call to the Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, in Accra, where both monarchs deliberated on African unity and the role of traditional institutions in modern diplomacy.
This marks the Warri monarch’s second visit to the Asante Kingdom following his attendance at the Asantehene’s 23rd coronation anniversary in 2022.
