Nigerian actor, director, and filmmaker Ibrahim Yekini Bakare, popularly known as Itele d Icon, has reached a major digital milestone, officially receiving the YouTube Gold Creator Award after surpassing one million subscribers on the platform.

The prominent Nollywood figure, celebrated for his dominant presence in Yoruba-language cinema, shared the gleaming plaque with his followers in a heartfelt message that reflected on the journey from obscurity to a seven-figure subscriber base.

“From zero to 1 million subscribers. The YouTube Gold Creator Award is finally home—a symbol of dedication, consistency, and the incredible community that stood by me every step of the way,” he wrote.

Itele, who runs the ITELEDICON STUDIO channel, has built a loyal audience through a steady stream of action-packed and epic Yoruba films, many of which he produces, directs, and stars in. His brand of filmmaking, deeply rooted in indigenous storytelling with high-octane production values, has carved out a dedicated fan base both in Nigeria and across the diaspora.

He extended gratitude to his supporters and the platform that made it possible. “To every subscriber, viewer, supporter, and believer in the vision of ITELEDICON STUDIO, thank you for being part of this remarkable journey. A special thank you to YouTube for this recognition.”

The actor made clear that the achievement is not a finish line but a launchpad. “This milestone is not the destination; it’s the beginning of an even greater chapter,” he added, signing off with a communal rallying cry: “We rise together.”

The Gold Creator Award places Itele d Icon among an elite group of Nigerian content creators who have crossed the million-subscriber threshold on YouTube, underscoring the growing global appetite for Nollywood content and the increasing viability of digital platforms as primary distribution channels for African cinema.

For the filmmaker, the plaque is both a validation of years of consistent output and a signal of even bigger ambitions ahead.
