50 Cent reacts to Nigerian AI hoax over $2 million Ice King Ochacho collab

2 Min Read

50 Cent got played by a machine, and he’s big enough to admit it. The rapper reacted this week to a viral video that claimed Nigerian businessman King Ochacho offered him $2 million to jump on a song with his 13-year-old son, Ice King Ochacho.

The clip was fake. Completely AI-generated. And 50 Cent says it “had him shook” when he first saw it.

He didn’t stay quiet. The rapper jumped into the comment sections of Nigerian entertainment blogs to debunk the rumour himself, clarifying he never said those words. The footage was built from a real Apple Music interview featuring 50 Cent alongside Swizz Beatz, Joe, and Donell Jones—then manipulated with open-source deepfake tools to rewrite his voice and mouth movements.

But the reaction he found in those comments made him laugh. He called Nigerian commenters “actual internet gangsters,” noting how they were hilariously dragging other African countries in the replies with lines like, “You ain’t shit, we love this!”

Here’s the twist nobody saw coming. The fake video sparked a real friendship. 50 Cent reached out to King Ochacho, connected with him and his son, and ended up giving Ice King Ochacho’s album The Future a public shout-out.

He shared the whole story on the The Crew Has It podcast.

So a deepfake fooled a rap legend, a comment section went feral, and a fake $2 million offer turned into an actual relationship. Only the internet.
