Nigerian TikToker Kidbaby honoured by Mayor of Brampton in Canada

Nigerian actress and filmmaker Aliyat Olamide Salman, popularly known as Kidbaby, has been officially recognized by the City of Brampton, Canada, for her contributions to the film and entertainment industry.

On February 11, 2026, she was presented with a Certificate of Recognition by the city’s mayor, Patrick Brown.

The certificate commended Salman for her “outstanding achievements as a Nigerian actress and filmmaker.” It highlighted her role in promoting Nigerian culture on the global stage, stating, “Through your creativity, storytelling, and dedication to artistic excellence, you have helped bring meaningful stories to life while showcasing the richness, diversity, and global influence of Nigerian cinema.”

The City of Brampton also praised her work for inspiring audiences and strengthening “cultural connections across communities.”

In a heartfelt response, Salman expressed her gratitude for the honour. “I am deeply grateful to the Canadian government, and especially the City of Brampton, for this warm recognition and support,” she wrote. “Moments like this remind me how powerful it is to represent where I come from on a global stage and to carry my journey, my people, and my culture with pride.”

The content creator also gave a special tribute to veteran Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham, whom she referred to as “My Super Amazing World Best Mummy.”
