Nigerian UK-based actress and singer Cynthia Erivo has been nominated for Best Actress at the 2026 BET Awards for her acclaimed performance in Wicked: For Good.
The nominations were announced on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. Erivo, a two‑time Oscar nominee, is recognised for her powerful portrayal in the blockbuster musical.
She competes alongside Angela Bassett, Ayo Edebiri, Chase Infiniti, Coco Jones, Keke Palmer, Quinta Brunson, Regina Hall, and Teyana Taylor.
Erivo previously won Outstanding Actress in a Motion Picture at the 2026 NAACP Image Awards. She has long celebrated her Nigerian heritage and remains a prominent voice for African representation in global cinema.
The 2026 BET Awards will air live from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on June 28, with comedian Druski hosting.
