Former Big Brother Naija reality TV star Faith Adewale has been crowned the Best Dressed Male (Voters’ Choice) at the 12th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards, sponsored by Guinness.
The announcement, verified via Guinness Nigeria’s Instagram, saw Adewale outpace thousands of fan votes alongside female winner, former BBNaija housemate Farida Auduson Ibrahim, the “Queen of the North.”
While many men reached for standard black tuxedos, Adewale arrived in military majesty – a custom navy ceremonial suit from Echo Lagos Fashion House (@echolagosfashionhouse), designed by Ekwenye Chimeremeze Joe.
The ‘General’ – armour, not a tuxedo
The look was a high‑neck, double‑breasted blazer with four large silver buttons connected by delicate chains. But the detail was in the hand‑embroidery: dense silver and pearl baroque floral vines climbing from the waist to the shoulder, with cuffs embroidered and topped by two thick white stripes.
The shoulders were completely encrusted with pearls and crystals, finished with dramatic grey feather epaulettes that flared out like wings.
Adewale paired the jacket with tailored navy straight‑leg trousers, crisp white formal gloves, oversized silver shield sunglasses, and multiple statement rings worn over the gloves. His hair was pulled into neat cornrows. Photographed by Thacyprian (Cyprian Ebube Onwueme) against natural Lagos backdrops – a green tree-lined walkway and a concrete bridge over a canal – the images exuded a cinematic, regal energy.
Echo Lagos gave him armour. In a sea of muted menswear, the navy, pearls, feathers, and cowrie‑like beadwork made him the undisputed general of the AMVCA red carpet.
