Ethiopian beauty queen and media professional Betelhem Embiale has been named Miss Culture Africa 2026 at the Miss Culture International grand finale, claiming a continental title that positions her as a leading cultural ambassador for the region.
The crowning took place on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the Auditorium Abdulrahman Saleh RRI in Jakarta, Indonesia, where delegates from across the world competed for international honours.
Embiale emerged with the Miss Culture Africa sash, a prestigious continental crown that recognises her commitment to cultural heritage, youth advocacy, and cross-border African representation.
A graduate in Electronics and Communication Engineering, currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Relations and Strategic Communication, Embiale brings a rare blend of technical and communications expertise to her new role. She works in the media sector and has built a public platform centred on youth empowerment and mental health awareness — specifically addressing the often-hidden struggles of young people across Africa.
Her pageant journey has been marked by a steady ascent. She previously placed as 4th Runner-Up at Miss World Ethiopia 2025 and 1st Runner-Up at Miss International Ethiopia 2025, experiences that honed her poise and deepened her advocacy work. Now, as Miss Culture Africa, she carries the mandate to champion African culture on the global stage.
The Miss Culture Africa title carries significant weight, as it designates the winner as the face of African cultural diplomacy within the broader Miss Culture International ecosystem.
Embiale’s victory underscores the pageant’s commitment to elevating women who combine intellect, cultural pride, and a passion for social impact. She is expected to use her tenure to spotlight youth mental health initiatives and strengthen cultural ties across the continent and beyond.
