Doechii has officially arrived at the 2026 Met Gala, and she did so without shoes.
The “Swamp Princess” made a headline‑grabbing entrance at the Metropolitan Museum of Art already barefoot, telling reporters the museum floors were “very clean.”

Her custom look by Marc Jacobs is a deconstructed, deep burgundy sheer ensemble that is more drapery than dress — flowing chiffon wrapped like traditional African draping, topped with a sculptural Sadu‑style turban piled high with glittering trim.
The top leaves her torso, sides, and back exposed; the asymmetrical wrap skirt sits low on her hips.
But it is her bare feet that have everyone talking. Deliberate and defiant, Doechii’s feet, ankles, hands, and forearms are covered in intricate dark henna. Heavy silver bangles, beaded anklets, and dangling green‑stone earrings complete the look.
“I trust the floors,” she laughed on the carpet. She also teased upcoming projects with co‑star Lady Gaga, calling her “an angel” and telling “Monsters” and “Swamp” fans to “get ready” for more high‑fashion moments.

Co‑chaired by Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and Anna Wintour, this year’s theme is “Costume Art.”
Doechii’s barefoot, Nubian‑queen statement is already one of the most talked‑about looks of the night — proof that you don’t need heels to rule the red carpet.
