On April 21, 2026, Davido announced his appointment as the Head of Youth Mobilisation for the campaign council. The move follows his formal decision to join the Accord Party, the same platform his uncle adopted in late 2025 after defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Davido signalled his support with the popular second-term slogan “4+4.” The 52-member Imole Campaign Council was set to be inaugurated on April 22, 2026.

The Osun governorship election is scheduled for August 2026.

Davido has been a long-time vocal supporter of Governor Adeleke’s political journey. His involvement is seen as a strategic move to leverage his massive global influence and social media following to energise young voters. This campaign role is in addition to his 2025 appointment as Chairman of the Osun Sports Trust Fund, aimed at revitalising the state’s sports sector.

With Davido leading youth mobilisation, the Adeleke campaign is banking on star power to secure a second term. The election is expected to be highly competitive.
