Grammy-winning rapper Cardi B transformed a mid-performance mishap into a political punchline Friday night, using her fall at a Las Vegas concert to mock the Trump administration amid an escalating war of words with federal authorities.

During a sold-out show at the T-Mobile Arena on the second stop of her “Little Miss Drama” tour, the 33-year-old artist was attempting a choreographed move on a prop chair when the chair slipped, sending her tumbling backwards onto the stage floor.

Without missing a beat, Cardi B recovered and addressed the roaring crowd: “That wasn’t me, that was the government! Y’all, the government was out to get me today. I’m telling you!”

The quip was the latest salvo in a bitter exchange with the Department of Homeland Security. Earlier this week in Palm Desert, California, Cardi told fans she would “jump” ICE agents if they attempted to detain concertgoers.

DHS responded on X, trolling the rapper with a reference to her past as a stripper, suggesting they’d consider her behaviour an “improvement” as long as she didn’t “drug and rob” their agents.

Cardi fired back by criticising the administration’s focus on her instead of releasing the “Epstein files.” Following Friday’s fall, she took to Instagram, jokingly suggesting the viral video was AI-generated—turning potential embarrassment into another political moment.

The tour continues with all eyes on the rapper’s next move.
