The Emperor of Afrobeats, Burna Boy

Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy has been officially confirmed to perform at the historic, first-ever FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show, set to take place on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

FIFA and Global Citizen announced the addition of the “African Giant” alongside Justin Bieber, with the performance curated by Coldplay’s Chris Martin.

The star-studded lineup also features Madonna, Shakira, and BTS, with orchestral accompaniment by conductor Gustavo Dudamel and a performance by the PS22 Chorus alongside Coldplay.

The entire musical spectacular will fit into a tight 11-minute window, breaking tradition for international football by bringing a Super Bowl-style entertainment production to intermission.

The event is produced in partnership with Global Citizen to raise awareness and support for the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which helps expand access to quality education and sports for children worldwide.

This final performance marks a massive double-booking for the Nigerian artist. Earlier in the tournament, Burna Boy co-headlined the opening ceremony at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City alongside Shakira, where they performed their global hit “Dai Dai,” the official anthem from the FIFA World Cup 2026 Album.
