The 2026 AMVCA red carpet has seen its share of drama, but BLNDE arrived dressed for confession – and for the after‑party.
The rising Afrobeats singer, known for her viral hit Omo To Sexy, traded club wear for a custom Sevon Dejana “church gown” that fused Catholic grandeur with Lagos nightlife. And she captioned it simply: “AMVCA DOLL.”
Styled by cultural archivist Eniafẹ́ Momodu, the look is a deconstructed nun’s habit.
The top is a structured black velvet peplum jacket with a plunging sweetheart neckline, exaggerated padded shoulders, and short puff sleeves – all hand‑embroidered with swirling gold vines, doves and sacred hearts.
A soft Black satin monastic hood was worn up over her platinum blonde finger‑wave bob, framing her face like a modern veil.
But the shock is below: a completely sheer, nude‑toned illusion mermaid skirt, also covered in gold‑Black vine embroidery, creating the illusion of nakedness wrapped in prayer beads. It flares into a heavy Black satin trumpet train that pools on the floor like a cassock.
A delicate gold rosary with a Miraculous Medal and a small gold crucifix rested at her cleavage. In one portrait, she held a long gold chain with a tiny cross in her open palm – an offering.
Makeup by BBS by Ponkeey delivered soft editorial glam: glowy skin, warm smoky gold eyes, glossy nude lip. The total effect? Saint meets starlet.
Sevon Dejana has long mastered “wearable art,” but this was a sermon. BLNDE wore centuries of iconography, stitched one bead at a time.
