Ayra Starr’s third studio album, Starrgirl, recorded 3,941,409 global streams on Spotify during its first full day of release on 14 August 2026, driven by strong domestic support and international interest.
The 16-track project, released through Mavin Records and Republic Records, pulled 1,826,368 of those streams from Spotify Nigeria, confirming the singer’s hold on her home market. The collaboration with ZAYN, “Heaven Baby,” emerged as the strongest global performer, drawing 790,133 individual streams on opening day.
The album features a multi-genre lineup including Wizkid, Rema, Leon Thomas, Danny Ocean, Kwn and Theodora. Lead singles include “Where Do We Go,” “Tornado” and “Gimme Dat.”
Within 24 hours of release, Starrgirl held the number one position on the Apple Music Nigeria Top Albums chart and the NG iTunes Albums chart. The two-time Grammy nominee has now posted one of the strongest opening-day streaming figures for a Nigerian female artist this year.
A global streaming update is expected early next week.
