Ayra Starr‘s third studio album, Starrgirl, posted 1,826,368 opening-day streams on Spotify Nigeria, immediately placing it among the biggest album debuts for a female artist in the country.
The 16-track project was released on Friday, 14 August 2026. Within 24 hours, it reached number one on the Apple Music Nigeria Top Albums chart and the NG iTunes Albums chart.
The album features collaborations with Wizkid, Rema and ZAYN. It follows a strong run for Ayra Starr this year, including her chart-topping single “Treat U Right” with FOLA, which made her the first female artist to reach number one on Spotify Nigeria in 2026.
No official global Spotify figures have been released yet. Her team is expected to publish first-week streaming totals early next week. A series of listening events in New York, London and Lagos accompanied the album’s launch.
