The American Music Awards has unveiled the nominees for Best Afrobeats Artist at the 2026 ceremony, featuring a heavyweight lineup of Nigerian giants, South African sensation Tyla, and breakout MOLIY.

The category pits two previous winners, Burna Boy and Wizkid, against Rema, who continues his record-breaking international run.

Tyla earns her second consecutive nomination after a year dominated by her debut album, while MOLIY lands her first-ever AMAs nod on the strength of her viral global hits.

Voting is now open at VoteAMAs.com and on Instagram @AMAs. The winner will be revealed live on Monday, May 25, when the American Music Awards airs on CBS and streams on Paramount+.

With Afrobeats now a mainstay category at the AMAs, the 2026 race is being billed as the most competitive yet — a battle between Afrobeats royalty and the new school that took the sound to the top of the Billboard Hot 100.
