Afrogospel pioneer Gaise Baba is taking his music to the continent. The self-styled “Culture Architect” has officially announced his 2026 ‘Africa Tour’ in support of his newly released studio album, God Is Cooking.
The tour kicks off this month in East Africa before moving through West Africa. Gaise Baba will perform in Uganda on September 11, followed by Kenya on September 13. The run continues with a show in Côte d’Ivoire on October 24, a Ghana performance on December 5, and a massive homecoming concert in Lagos on December 19.
“I’m really looking forward to connecting with my African family across our beautiful continent!” the Lagos-based artist announced, signing off with a clear message: “Africa, Gaise Baba is coming!”
The tour follows the August 14 release of God Is Cooking, a 13-track project presented as a musical “13-course meal”. The album blends Afrogospel with Afro-house, hip-hop influences, and elements of Nigeria’s rich musical heritage. It features collaborations with Lawrence Oyor, Greatman Takit, and Nontokozo Mkhize, among others.

Gaise Baba, born Akinade Ibuoye, has spent nearly two decades carving out a distinctive sound that fuses Yoruba, English, and Pidgin. His viral hit “No Turning Back II” featuring Lawrence Oyor expanded his reach far beyond traditional gospel circles. Beyond music, he founded the LightOut Initiative and ARAMANDA festival, using his platform for youth engagement and social impact.
The tour will also extend beyond Africa, with planned stops across North America and Europe.
