Super Falcons head coach Justin Madugu has confirmed his interest in 23-year-old Bayern Munich forward Edna Imade, who is currently on loan at Real Sociedad. Imade, who was born in Nigeria but raised in Spain, is eligible to represent either nation, creating a recruitment dilemma.

Imade’s stock rose significantly after a breakout season with Granada CF, where she netted nine goals in 11 starts, securing her move to the German champions.
Speaking to Nigerian Football, Madugu stated that Imade “is aware that we are monitoring her performance.” He revealed that the Nigerian camp has made “several efforts” to connect, including writing to her club and reaching out via other Nigerian players in Spain.
However, Imade “is yet to fully make up her mind.” Madugu acknowledged speculation that Imade’s representatives might be holding out for a call-up from Spain, a situation he fears is complicating her choice, especially since he was “reliably informed that she was initially keen” on Nigeria.

Madugu insisted the door remains open, stating, “we truly value her talent” and “would be glad to give her the chance to represent Nigeria.” He concluded that the final choice rests with the player, and “Whatever she decides, we respect her decision.”
