The Miss Teen Universe Nigeria Organisation had announced a complete withdrawal after LASU postponed core 300-level Mass Communication examinations, clashing directly with the pageant itinerary. Late-stage coordination saved the trip—Adeeko kept her academic standing and still made the journey.

Her departure message carried more than excitement. “I carry my dream—the little girl who dared to believe her voice could be heard on the world stage,” she said. “And I carry THEIR dreams. The public school girl who wants to be an engineer but has never touched a computer. The boy who wants to talk about his pain but was told ‘boys don’t cry.'”

She called those dreams heavy, and said she’d carry them with pride.

Adeeko finished 2nd Runner-Up at the Miss One Nigeria national finals. Her platform, “Change and Future for All,” pushes for youth empowerment, female literacy, and spaces for teenagers in social leadership. She also holds a Top 10 position in the People’s Choice vote, which guarantees a Top 14 spot.

Arrivals begin October 19. The Grand Final is October 25.
