WeTalkSound, the Lagos-based creative powerhouse, has announced the premiere of a documentary chronicling the global phenomenon that is “Detty December” — the high-energy cultural season that transforms Lagos into a global hotspot each holiday.
The exclusive screening will take place on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Polygon Space, 5 Idowu Taylor Street, Victoria Island, Lagos. Doors open at 6 PM.
“Lagos in December is more than just a month – it’s a global phenomenon. It’s a homecoming, a high-energy cultural shift, and a heartbeat that defines the spirit of our city,” the organisation shared in a statement.
The documentary captures the unique magic of the season — a month-long celebration that has become a powerful economic driver. Lagos State authorities estimate the festivities bring in approximately $71.5 million in government revenue, including $44 million from the hotel sector alone.
“At WeTalkSound, we’ve been documenting this unique magic. Now, we want to share that story with you,” the group added.
Space is limited. Those interested are encouraged to RSVP via the link in WeTalkSound’s official bio to secure their spot.
